Wild Mediterranean oregano from Turkey standardized to 75�85% carvacrol content is used to formulate�Oregano SAP. Oregano oil extract has demonstrated antioxidative, antimicrobial, and antiviral properties. Carvacrol is one of nature�s most potent antimicrobials, as it has beneficial effects against several strains of both Gram-positive and -negative bacteria and several species of fungi and yeast. Oregano oil has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. Therefore, the oil can be used topically on cuts or abrasions to prevent infections, on fungal infections such as athlete�s foot, as well as on the gums to assist in pain reduction.Research has shown that the antimicrobial activity of oil of oregano is maintained up to boiling-point temperatures and can therefore be used effectively as a disinfectant as well.
